Bio
Dr Karla Sanchez is Head of Biomedical Engineering at Cambridge Design Partnership, and a part-time honorary researcher at the Physiological Fluids Group at Imperial College, London. She works alongside clinicians and engineers to study the patterns of blood flow in the brain, spinal cord, and kidney. Her research applies different modelling techniques, starting from simple to complex behaviour, and from small to larger scale. In her industry career she has managed several successful projects in the medical devices sector, launching a large range of new products.
She is also a speaker at schools and science festivals and an advocate for STEM subjects and the potential of science to change the world.
